The abuse and misconduct detailed in the Yates Report are reprehensible and unacceptable. We stand with the players who came forward, and all those who have suffered.

What affects one player or one team affects us all. A safe environment for players, staff, and fans is the bare minimum of what an organization should provide. Players must be empowered, clubs must be accountable, and the league must work tirelessly to elevate the sport and its athletes. Fans should be proud to support us.

The behaviors described in this report are not unique to sport. Progress has been slowed for decades because of systemic abuses of power and silence imposed by fear. Change is possible because of the inherent value of women and gender-expansive people and the potential of sport to accelerate gender equity.

While the findings and recommendations of the independent NWSL/NWSLPA joint investigation are still forthcoming, we want to take action now.

In the coming days, Angel City FC will host a virtual forum to listen to our community and discuss what steps we can take together. Stay tuned to our social channels for more information.

Together, we can work to eradicate cultures of abuse.
